Ms. Danielle Yocum

Welcome to STEM Lab! Please let me introduce myself-

After graduating high school in western New York, I attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. Upon completing my four years, I received two degrees, the first in Elementary Education (1-6) and the other in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12).

My love of St. Augustine, Florida through my college years had me plant my roots in the historic and beautiful town upon graduation.  I began my teaching journey at a private Catholic school in the very heart of the historic district.  While teaching first grade for six years, I also created and built a cheerleading program for the 4-8 graders.

Moving to the public-school system in a neighboring county, I jumped into teaching fourth grade.  Of the eight years I spent there, the last four had me focused on math and science with a team-teacher teaching ELA and Social Studies.

With 14 wonderful years of teaching in Florida under my belt, I took a two-year break.  Along with the passing of my father, which in itself was a life-altering event, an opportunity arose that allowed me to expand my personal education, growth, and experiences.  I moved to California and began working for a luxury sports car racing team, specializing in Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin.  That was truly an adventure I will treasure for a lifetime.

Missing my family on the east coast as well as the teaching profession, the move was made here to eastern North Carolina.  This will be my 7th year in Onslow County and my 20th year in education.  I look forward to working with you and creating an exciting STEM opportunity for all students!
