Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Mrs. Johnson

Hello My name is Mrs. Johnson, and I am your 1st Grade teacher!

I was born and raised Massachusetts, but I have lived in North Carolina for a year now, with my husband and our dog Mulligan.

I graduated from Endicott College in 2022 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

This is my first year teaching and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade. I love teaching because I love to share in the fun of learning! I cannot wait to have fun with you all this year!

My Values:

As an educator, I value intellectual curiosity, playful learning, empathy, trust, community, positivity, identity, equity, and critical thinking. With this, I have the opportunity to influence and support these ideologies in my classroom. I believe that these values should be introduced at an early and impressionable age. As an early childhood educator, I can display and model these values to my students.

Young Children & How They Learn:

Students come into the classroom with fresh and impressionable minds. Minds that are naturally curious. Everyone has a right to learn and explore through this interest and curiosity. Students come into the classroom with a hunger for knowledge and a hunger to make sense of the world around them. They comprise a diverse community and each make important contributions by means of their unique strengths. When students are held to high standards and encouraged to explore these different strengths, with skilled guidance and support, they are capable of amazing things

My Role:

I believe my role as an educator is to inspire, facilitate, and support. I will inspire learning through different modes, art, music, activities, and experiences. In the same way that each child brings their contributions to the classroom, I bring my knowledge to further learning and experiences for my students. I want my students to be able to explore and process their learning rather than have information handed to them. In the classroom, I will be used as a resource for my students to explore and answer any questions that may come about. I will facilitate learning so that my students can reach their full potential and accomplish amazing things.
