Meet Ms. Secore

     My name is Ms. Secore (but my friends call me Ms. Dee), I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year, and I am looking forward to learning more about who he/she is and assisting in laying the foundation for his/her education. This year will be filled with friends, adventure, and, of course, learning. 

    It is important you and I work together to promote your child's growth, as a team. Knowing and learning more about him/her can help me better understand so much about who he/she is, and how he/she learns, which is especially important. As I work with your child and obtain this information. I will be certain my lesson plans are tailored in a way that every child is able to grow. 

A Little About Myself

    As I am taking on this role in your child's life, I feel it necessary for you to feel comfortable knowing who I am. I was born in Flint, Michigan but call Ohio my home. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2013 and a few years later I decided to pursue my dream of teaching. I have 3 children; 2 are grown and have left the nest, while I have one that is a sophomore in high school this year. I enjoy the outdoors and love to do activities outside. I spend my free time kayaking, white water rafting and camping. 

Educational Background/Experience

    I am a 2021 graduate of University of Mount Olive where I received a Bachelor's of Science with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.

I have worked for 5 years in the Onslow County Preschool Program. This is my 5th year at Summersill Elementary.
