I am very excited to be a part of Jacksonville Commons Middle School.  Social studies is my teaching area, and I have taught all middle school grades in this subject.  This is my second year teaching in North Carolina. Last year I taught 6th-grade Ancient Civilizations.  Before that, I was in California teaching 7th-grade world history, 8th-grade American history, and 8th-grade ELA.  I am married to a Marine and we share two wonderful children, a son who is 15 and a daughter who is 11. Watching them in sports is one of our favorite things to do.  

Sports are a passion of mine, especially ⚾️baseball.  As a Missouri native, I am a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan! In addition, my family is also Pittsburgh Steelers football 🏈 and St. Louis Blues hockey 🏒 fans.  However, just about any sport will catch my attention, and I love connecting history to my sports passion.   I also enjoy working out with my family in our gym, offroading in our Jeep, visiting historical landmarks, and experiencing national parks.  

I look forward to teaching at JCMS this year and helping your students learn how fascinating and relatable history can be!!!
