Mrs. Prentiss Kurtz

Hello all, my name is Prentiss Kurtz and I am a social studies teacher. I am originally from the great state of Maine and I, like many others here, moved to the Jacksonville area with my husband who is in the Marine Corps. I have been in the area off and on since 2016.  I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a BA in political science. While teaching wasn't my original plan after graduating college, I have always had a passion for learning, and have a deep interest in anything related to the United States government. Throughout my high school years, I was particularly bonded to my social studies teachers, and I would like to inspire my own students in the way that my teachers empowered me.  

This year I am teaching AP Government and Politics, Economics and Personal Finance, and the AVID for seniors. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me. I am looking forward to a great school year!
