Welcome Kinder Families! My name is Alyson Sparkman and I have been a Kindergarten teacher in Onslow county since 2012. I graduated from FAU in 2011 with a BA in Elementary Education K-6 with English as a Second Language. Teaching Kindergarten has given me the opportunity to spend each year sharing the first school experiences with the kiddos and watching them build a love for learning. We have lots to learn in just one year of Kindergarten and know how challenging it can be for a new learner. My expectations go beyond the classroom. I try my best to teach them to persevere and always try their best. We encourage others to succeed and build strong relationships with our peers by problem solving and working together.
A little bit about me.... I am originally from sunny South Florida where I was born and raised. My husband and I moved here after we got married and have built a beautiful life and family together. We have 2 boys, Liam and Lucas. They are the best of friends and we have loved watching Liam be an awesome BIG brother to Lucas. We have several little animals, including turtles, fish, and chickens, but our "fur baby", Hank, is a pitbull mix,and he is our gentle giant. He is the best dog anyone could have!
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with family and friends. You can find us outside swimming, going to the beach, playing in the yard, taking the boat out for a stroll, and doing arts and crafts. We are slightly addicted to DIY projects and building new things.
