Hello everyone!!! Welcome to Kindergarten!

I am SO excited to be your student's teacher this year! I truly believe that education is a partnership between the teacher and parent and I look forward to working with you. Here is a little information about me for you to know.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree at East Carolina University in Recreation and Leisure Systems Studies with a Concentration in Recreation Therapy. I worked in this field for 15 years before becoming a stay-at-home Mom for my two kiddos Sandy and Connor. After six years of being a stay-at-home Mom, I decided to pursue my dream job of becoming a teacher. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2014. This will be my 10th year teaching and I absolutely LOVE it!

I have been married for 22 years to Steven Smith.  We have built our life in Topsail Beach with two beautiful children, a Lab-Coonhound mix named Indy, and a Schnauzer named Maddie. My daughter Sandy is in 11th grade and my son Connor is in 8th grade.

This is going to be a GREAT year for us all! I am honored to be part of the Coastal Elementary Family and can not wait to begin many new adventures together this year!
