About Me:
I was born and raised right here in Jacksonville, NC. I attended school in Southwest and graduated from Southwest High School in 1993. I am a PROUD Onslow County native and product of Onslow County Schools!
I have been a teacher for 24 years. I started in Pender County in 1999 and then moved home, to Onslow County, in 2008 and have been with OCS ever since. I have taught 5th grade, 2nd grade (one year!) and 6th grade, all ELA. I started in Onslow county at Southwest Middle School for many years teaching 6th grade ELA, then became a literacy coach for OCS middle schools for three years. I missed the classroom and returned to 6th grade ELA at New Bridge Middle School for two years before becoming an AIG Specialist.
I have been married for 17 years and have one son, Liam, who is 16 years old. Our family LOVES spending time outdoors! We enjoy camping, fishing, swimming, and exploring. We LOVE animals! We have 5 chickens, 4 weiner dogs, 4 cats, and a bearded dragon. I also love to take care of stray animals that happen to find their way to our house!
My goal in education is to help EVERY student realize that they are gifted in their own way and then to nurture that gift.
