Mrs. Cassandra Young

Hello!

I am Cassandra Young. I am a Phoenix, AZ native. I have lived in Jacksonville since 2013. My husband and I have three sons. Amazingly, our youngest started kindergarten here at Summersill all those years ago. My husband retired from the Marine Corps, and we decided to stay and call Jacksonville home. I have worked with children most of my adult career. I have worked in day care caring for infants all the way up to working at the University of Georgia where I served as the testing coordinator for national standardized testing. I have been involved in the PTO over the years at several schools and have served as President of the PTO at three schools as well. All three of our sons are active in Scouting, two of our sons are now Eagle Scouts. I was the Cub Master of Pack 319 here at Summersill for 5 years. I am trained as a BSA National Camp School Director. I have worked as a director for Cub Scout Day Camps and Cub Buddy Campouts. Imagine throwing a weekend-long birthday party with activities and entertainment for 600 of your friends. I have worked as an EC TA, taught 6th grade Science and Social Studies, and have taught 5th grade Science, Social Studies and ELA. This year I am teaching 5th grade Science and ELA. I am looking forward to an amazing year.
