Mrs. Vega

Welcome to First Grade!
I am so thrilled to be your teacher this year & cannot wait to learn more about you and your family! 
This will be my fifth year teaching first grade in Onslow County and my fourth year as a Coastal Pelican. Before coming to Onslow County, my family and I lived in South Africa for 3.5 years and in Spain for 1.5 years. During our time overseas I was able to visit 15 countries! Our time overseas was a valuable learning experience that I am beyond grateful for. Prior to moving overseas I taught 3rd grade in Southern California. I am originally from California and have been married to my Marine (Tony) for 20 years! We have three children (Mya 21, Zoey 12 & Andreas 6) that keep us very busy with their unique stages in life. 

I love traveling the world, beach days, camping, movie nights and playing board games with my family.   


Very often people will hear me refer to my community of learners as "Vega's Village". I truly believe in the African proverb "it takes a village to raise a child" as this proverb is also applicable to education. I look forward to working with my new village of learners this year!
